Blueprint is journalism with purpose. It’s a magazine about ideas for improving Los Angeles and California — and about the people and institutions charged with doing that. It is meant to bring those together: to give civic leaders the best and most current thinking in public affairs research, and to expose academicians to the complexities and frailties of governance.
The ideas featured in Blueprint — on the Web and in print — are not presented as finished, assembled and ready for use. Our hope is to start, not end, conversations. In that spirit, Blueprint is more informal than stuffy, more casual than stiff. It is also our desire to personally acquaint those who study civic life with those who conduct it — and vice versa. And we aim to make our general readers at home with both.
We hope that you will join us as we, together, address what matters most in our city and our state.
